British Gas Energy Trust
The British Gas Energy Trust (BGET) is an independent charitable trust, funded solely by British Gas since 2004, whose mission is to alleviate the impact of poverty, with a strong focus on fuel poverty. It supports households across England, Scotland and Wales regardless of their energy supplier.
Citizens Advice works in partnership with BGET through funding programmes that allow local Citizens Advice offices to provide specialist energy and money advice, as well as practical support that helps people manage or overcome energy debt. This includes the national Supporting Communities at Risk Programme (SCARP), which provides grants for third‑sector organisations, including Citizens Advice, to deliver this work.
